Tanisha Akter, an 11-year-old girl with dreams of becoming a teacher, lives with her parents and her little brother Hasnain in a small rented room in Geneva Bihari Camp, where her father’s limited income as a CNG driver barely covers food and rent. Though she is gentle and mature beyond her years, often helping her mother care for Hasnain, her recent illness has left her weak and struggling to breathe. As her nasal blockage worsened into severe pneumonia with high fever and respiratory distress, her parents became frightened, knowing they had no savings to afford prolonged hospital care. Without proper treatment, her condition could deteriorate further, leading to life-threatening complications or long-term lung problems that may affect her future. Learning about Helpster through the outreach program at Al Manar Hospital gave her family a much-needed hope to save their daughter and help her return to school and her dreams.

After months of struggling to breathe and sleep with severe pneumonia Tanisha Akter was finally admitted to Al Manar Hospital on 16 February with support from Helpster. The patient admitted in the hospital for 4 days and receive treatment . And on 20 February 2026 the patient discharged with advice, her breathing had improved, her strength had begun to return, and a soft smile had come back to her face.

Doctors have recommended hospitalization, intravenous antibiotics, nebulization, and supportive therapy to control Tanisha’s lung infection and improve her breathing. With proper and timely treatment, the infection can clear, her oxygen levels can stabilize, and she can gradually regain her strength and return to school and normal activities. Early medical care will also reduce the risk of long-term lung damage or repeated infections. However, if left untreated, severe pneumonia can rapidly worsen, leading to respiratory failure, spread of infection, or other life-threatening complications. Prompt and complete treatment is essential to protect her life and future health.
