Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Twenty-year-old Shabana is a caring housewife who lovingly looks after her husband Harun, their young son Shahjahan, and her elderly mother-in-law Hasina while living in a fragile rented home. Her husband earns only 6,000 taka per month as a day laborer, which is not enough to cover basic family needs, making the cost of surgery impossible to manage. Shabana is now suffering from severe abdominal pain and has been diagnosed with acute appendicitis, a condition that requires urgent operation. Without timely treatment, her appendix could burst, leading to a serious infection in the abdomen that can become life-threatening. The family learned about Helpster Charity through a leaflet and is now seeking support so Shabana can receive the surgery she urgently needs and continue caring for her family.

Medical history

Shabana was admitted to the hospital on 06.06.2026 with acute appendicitis. After a thorough medical evaluation, she underwent a successful appendicectomy on the same day, performed by surgeon Dr. Abdur Rahim with anesthesia administered by Dr. Anik. Following the operation, she received appropriate medical treatment, pain management, continuous monitoring, and attentive nursing care, which ensured a smooth recovery. As her condition improved without complications, she was discharged in a stable and secure condition on 09.06.2026.

Prognosis

Doctors have advised an appendectomy as the safest and most effective treatment to remove the inflamed appendix and prevent serious complications. With timely surgery, Shabana is expected to recover fully, regain her strength, and return to her normal daily life caring for her family. Early treatment will also prevent the infection from spreading inside her abdomen and protect her overall health. However, if the surgery is delayed or left untreated, the appendix may rupture, causing severe internal infection, shock, and life-threatening complications. In such cases, saving her life would become extremely difficult, making immediate treatment essential.
