Mohammad Sakib has been diagnosed with a right-sided indirect incomplete inguinal hernia, a condition where a portion of the intestine or abdominal tissue pushes through a weak spot in the lower abdominal wall into the groin area. This causes swelling in the scrotum and may lead to discomfort or pain, especially during physical activity, coughing, or lifting heavy objects. Over time, the swelling can gradually increase in size and become more painful if not treated. Without proper surgical treatment, the hernia can lead to serious complications such as trapped or strangulated intestine, which can become a medical emergency.

Background
Mohammad Sakib is a humble and hardworking 18-year-old boy who lives with his parents in a small overcrowded shelter in Geneva Bihari Camp, Dhaka. His father, Md. Sazzad Hossain, works as a daily laborer earning only about 10,000 BDT per month, which barely covers food, rent, and basic needs, leaving the family with no savings for medical treatment. For the past seven years, Sakib has been suffering from a swelling in the right side of his scrotum that has gradually grown larger and more painful, and doctors have now diagnosed him with a right-sided inguinal hernia that requires medical treatment. Despite their worries, his parents cannot afford the cost of surgery due to their fragile financial condition. The family learned about Helpster Charity through a medical outreach camp, and without timely treatment, Sakib’s condition could worsen severely, potentially leading to serious complications and preventing him from living a normal, healthy life.
Medical history
The patient Mohammad Sakib, aged 18, was admitted to Al-Manar Hospital Ltd. on 16 February 2026 with the diagnosis of Right Sided Indirect Incomplete Inguinal Hernia. He underwent hernioplasty surgery with mesh placement on 17 February 2026 under spinal anesthesia. Following the procedure, he showed steady improvement without complications and responded well to post-operative treatment. He was discharged on 19 February 2026 with medical advice for rest, medication, and regular follow-up care. Sakib and his family expressed heartfelt gratitude to Helpster Charity for providing essential financial support that made his treatment possible.
Prognosis
According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Galib Mohammad Shawan, General & Laparoscopic Surgeon at Al-Manar Hospital Ltd., Mohammad Sakib was diagnosed with Right Sided Indirect Incomplete Inguinal Hernia and required surgical repair. The doctor advised immediate hernioplasty with mesh placement, followed by strict rest, regular medication, and follow-up checkups to prevent recurrence or complications. He has been instructed to avoid heavy lifting and strenuous physical activity for several months to ensure proper healing. With appropriate post-operative care and monitoring, Sakib is expected to recover well and return to normal activities gradually. However, without proper rest and continued medical follow-up, there remains a risk of complications or recurrence, which could again threaten his health and ability to work.
