A vesical calculus is a hard stone that forms within the urinary bladder due to the accumulation of minerals in the urine. It can irritate the bladder lining or obstruct the normal flow of urine, leading to symptoms such as lower abdominal pain, difficulty urinating, weak urine stream, and sometimes blood in the urine. If not treated, bladder stones may cause recurrent urinary infections, worsening pain, or damage to the urinary tract. Management often involves surgical removal of the stone to relieve symptoms and restore normal urinary function.

Background
Mahammad Umar Galadima is a resilient and responsible 16-year-old who enjoys typical teenage activities and looks forward to achieving his personal goals in the future. He remains hopeful and motivated despite the health challenges he is currently facing. He developed symptoms of lower abdominal pain, difficulty passing urine, poor urine flow, and occasional blood in the urine over the past week. The discomfort started gradually and worsened during urination. Medical evaluation confirmed the presence of a bladder stone (vesical calculus). He is currently stable and scheduled for surgical removal of the stone (cystolithotomy), pending financial support for treatment.
Medical history
Muhammad, a 16-year-old boy, was admitted on 13/02/2026 with urinary symptoms caused by a bladder stone. He underwent a successful cystolithotomy (surgical removal of the bladder stone) and received appropriate postoperative care, pain management, and close medical monitoring. After five days in the hospital, Muhammad recovered smoothly. His urinary symptoms resolved, he was able to pass urine comfortably, and he was discharged home in stable condition with follow-up advice to support a full recovery and reduce the risk of recurrence. Prognosis
The patient has been evaluated for urinary symptoms and found to require surgical intervention to remove the bladder stone and relieve obstruction. He is currently stable with no signs of active infection or systemic illness and is being prepared for definitive treatment. With successful surgery and appropriate post-operative care, his symptoms are expected to resolve completely. Prognosis is generally favorable, provided he attends follow-up care and adopts preventive measures to reduce the risk of recurrence.
