Background
Most. Rohima Begum is a gentle and hardworking 11-year-old girl who studies in Class Six and loves helping her mother at home, while dreaming of becoming a doctor one day. Her father earns only 6,000 taka per month as a van driver, which must support five family members—including her school-going brother and elderly grandfather—making it impossible to afford emergency hospital expenses. Recently, she developed acute watery diarrhoea with severe dehydration, along with vomiting and fever, leaving her too weak to drink or even sit up properly. Watching their daughter’s condition worsen has left her parents deeply worried, as they struggle to manage daily needs in their fragile living situation. If she does not receive urgent and proper treatment, severe dehydration could lead to organ failure or become life-threatening, which is why the family sought help after learning about Helpster Charity from another beneficiary.
Medical history
Most. Rohima Begum was admitted on 16.02.2026 with acute watery diarrhoea and severe dehydration. She received proper medical management, including intravenous fluids, medications, and continuous monitoring, along with attentive nursing care. With timely treatment and close observation, her hydration and strength were restored, and her condition gradually improved. Over the next few days, she responded well to treatment and showed steady recovery. She was discharged on 19.02.2026 in a stable and secure condition, able to return home safely and resume her normal activities.
Prognosis
The doctor has recommended immediate hospital admission for Rohima so she can receive proper hydration, feeding, and other supportive care. With timely treatment, her fluid levels can be restored, her weakness will improve, and she will have a strong chance of making a full recovery. Supportive therapy will help her body regain strength and prevent further complications. However, if she is left untreated, her dehydration may worsen rapidly, leading to severe illness and possible organ failure.
