Eliana is the last-born child in a family of four. He lives with his parents and sibling in a one-bedroom mud-walled house without electricity. His mother is a housewife, while his father is the sole breadwinner, relying on occasional casual jobs to support the family. Eliana’s mother reported that the child had been experiencing cough, nasal congestion, poor breastfeeding, difficulty breathing, and high fever for about two days. After medical assessment, Eliana was diagnosed with Severe Pneumonia, a serious lung infection requiring urgent medical attention and hospitalization.

ELIANA WAS TREATED WITH ANTIBIOTICS, ANTIPYRETICS AND OTHER DRUGS AS PER MEDICAL REPORT. HE RESPONDED SO WELL TO THE CARE AND MANAGEMENT HE WAS GIVEN AND STABILIZED. ELIANA WAS THEN DISHARGED ON ORAL MEDICATIONS TO CONTINUE WITH AT HOME. ELIANA'S CONDITION AFTER DISCHARGE CONTINUED TO RESOLVE, THIS WAS CONFIRMED BY THE CHILD'S VISIT TO GROWTH AND MONITORING CLINIC . THE MOTHER CONFIRMED THAT HE WAS BREASTFEEDING WELL AND NO OTHER COMPLAIN WAS REPORTED.

After clinical evaluation, Eliana was diagnosed with Severe Pneumonia. The medical team noted that the delay in accessing medical care due to financial constraints may have contributed to the worsening of the infection. Immediate medical management was required, including oxygen support, antibiotics, fever control, and close monitoring to stabilize the child and prevent further complications such as respiratory failure. With prompt and appropriate treatment, the prognosis for Eliana is generally good. Children with severe pneumonia often improve significantly when they receive timely antibiotics, supportive care, and proper monitoring in a healthcare facility.
