Bilateral fibroadenoma is a benign solid breast tumor commonly seen in adolescent and young women. It presents as painless, firm, mobile lumps in one or both breasts, without nipple discharge or skin changes. Diagnosis is confirmed with ultrasound and/or FNAC, and management involves observation or surgical excision depending on size, symptoms, or patient preference.

Background
Sa’adatu Lawan is an 18-year-old young woman from a financially challenged family that depends on assistance for healthcare. She enjoys reading and caring for her younger siblings, and she hopes to become a healthcare worker so she can support women’s health in her community. She presented with a six-month history of painless lumps in both breasts. She did not notice any nipple discharge, skin changes, fever, or other systemic symptoms. On examination, firm, mobile, well-defined masses were felt in both breasts, consistent with bilateral fibroadenoma. She has been counseled and is currently planned for excisional biopsy for definitive management, pending financial support from Helpster Charity.
Medical history
MEDICAL REPORT INRESPECT OF SA'ADATU LAWAN,FEMALE,18 YEARS OLD SA'ADATU,an 18 year old teenager , presented with gradually enlarging,painless lumps in both breasts over the past 6 months.Recently,she developed pain in the breast and she became very uncomfortable for the past 24 hours After thorough evaluation and investigation, she was diagnosed with Bilateral fibroadenoma. She underwent successful surgery without immediate complications. Due to the nature of his condition, she was admitted for 3 days for close monitoring and post-operative care.She recovered well and was discharged home after 3 days, with a follow-up appointment scheduled for 1 week. Currently, she is doing well, has fully recovered, and has resumed her regular activities. We appreciate the timely intervention by Helpster and the UMD Medical team.
Prognosis
Fibroadenomas are non cancerous tumors typically found in young women. Sa'adatu has been experiencing breast lumps from her left breast and later discovered another lumps in her right breast, this makes her uncomfortable and feels pain intermittently. If left unmonitored, progressive enlargement may cause breast deformity, discomfort, anxiety, and in rare cases mask or obscure early detection of malignant changes. Surgical removal, is typically curative and restores normal breast contour and reassurance. It has a chance of becoming cancerous, painful, and causing discomfort due to growth in sizes of the adenoma. It needs to be surgically removed.
