Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About gynecology

Septic abortion is a serious infection of the uterus following miscarriage or incomplete abortion, presenting with fever, abdominal pain, vaginal bleeding, and foul-smelling discharge. Ultrasound helps identify retained products of conception, which can serve as a focus for infection. Management requires intravenous antibiotics, fluid resuscitation, evacuation of retained tissue, and close monitoring to prevent life-threatening complications such as sepsis, hemorrhage, or multi-organ failure.

Background

Hauwa Moh’d is a 19-year-old young woman from a financially challenged family that depends on assistance for medical care. She is caring toward her siblings and has a strong interest in women’s health, with the aspiration of becoming a healthcare worker to support young women in her community. She presented with fever, lower abdominal pain, and vaginal bleeding following a spontaneous miscarriage three days earlier. Her symptoms were associated with nausea, vomiting, and general weakness. On examination, she appeared ill, febrile, mildly dehydrated, and had uterine tenderness with foul-smelling vaginal discharge. She was diagnosed with septic abortion, a serious condition with risk of septic shock. She was promptly commenced on intravenous antibiotics, fluid resuscitation, and evacuation of retained uterine contents.
