Selina Akter, a 21-year-old housewife, lives with her husband Shakawat Hossen and his elderly parents, who all depend on Shakawat’s small income of about 9,000 taka per month from his job at a garment factory. His earnings barely cover food, rent, and medicine for his aging parents, leaving the family unable to afford the hospital expenses needed for Selina’s delivery care. Now at 38 weeks of pregnancy, Selina is facing a risky delivery because the baby is not in the normal head-down position, which may cause serious complications during childbirth. Despite the pain and uncertainty, Selina remains patient and devoted to caring for her family while hoping for the safe birth of her child. The family learned about Helpster Charity through the staff at CSDK, who informed them about available support, giving them hope for assistance during this critical time. Without proper medical care and supervision, both Selina and her baby could face serious and life-threatening complications during delivery.

Selina Akter was admitted to the hospital on 22 February 2026 for a planned C-section because her baby was not in the normal head-down position. The surgery was successfully performed by the medical team, and she safely delivered a healthy baby, with both mother and child remaining stable throughout the procedure. After the operation, Selina received proper post-operative care, medications, and monitoring, and her recovery progressed smoothly until her discharge on 25 February 2026. She is now able to care for her newborn and both of them are in good health. Selina and her family express their deep gratitude to Helpster Charity, its volunteers, and the hospital team for their compassionate support and assistance, which made the safe delivery and treatment possible.

The doctors have advised that with timely medical care, including a planned cesarean section, Selina and her baby have a strong chance of a safe delivery and good health. Proper management of her breech presentation at full term can greatly reduce the risks of complications such as fetal distress, prolonged labor, cord compression, or excessive bleeding. However, if not properly managed or if a normal vaginal delivery is attempted despite the breech position, it may result in serious and potentially life-threatening complications for both mother and baby. Therefore, careful monitoring and timely surgical intervention are essential to ensure the safest possible outcome and give her baby the best chance of being born healthy and strong.
