Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Fifteen-year-old Md. Nifat Hossain is an intelligent and humble Class Nine student who dreams of building a better future for his struggling family. He lives with his father Abdul Malek, a day laborer earning only 6,000 taka per month, his mother Nurfa Begum, and his younger brother Nihad in fragile living conditions without a permanent home. With such limited income, his father can barely manage daily meals, making it impossible to afford the urgent surgery needed for Nifat’s acute appendicitis. Despite severe abdominal pain and fever, Nifat remains patient and hopeful, but without immediate treatment, his appendix could rupture, leading to life-threatening infection and serious complications. After learning about Helpster Charity through a leaflet, his worried family reached out for support to save their beloved son.

Prognosis

Doctors have recommended an urgent appendicectomy to remove the inflamed appendix and prevent serious complications. With timely surgery, Nifat is expected to recover completely, regain his strength, and return to school and normal activities without long-term health problems. Early intervention will stop the infection from spreading and relieve his severe pain. However, if the surgery is delayed, the appendix may burst, leading to peritonitis, abdominal abscess, tissue damage, or severe bloodstream infection, which can become life-threatening. Prompt surgical treatment is therefore essential to protect his life and ensure a safe recovery.
