Immanuel James is a five-month-old baby boy and the youngest in a family of four children. He is a playful and cheerful infant with a bright smile when happy. His mother is a homemaker who depends on her spouse for support, while his father is a small-scale farmer who relies on farm produce for the family’s livelihood. Immanuel had been in good health until one evening when his mother noticed that he became irritable, especially when his right arm was touched or lifted. On closer observation, she noticed a swelling on his right upper limb near the armpit. He began crying excessively and developed a fever, which raised concern. His mother brought him to the health facility for evaluation. However, she was initially hesitant about admission due to financial constraints and expressed her intention to return home. Through the intervention of the attending healthcare worker, she was informed about Helpster Charity and the support it provides. After understanding this, she consented to have her child admitted for treatment. The child was diagnosed with cellulitis

James was brought by the mother to the facility while very irritable and was crying alot.He was examined and found with a swelling on his upper arm just about the armpit.The swelling was redish in colour,hot to touch and tender.He was commenced on iv Floxapen four time daily and anti-inflamatories.James responded positively to the treatment and and shown great imlrovement.Upon discharge he was able to play well asign that the pain had subsided. James has recovered fully after the injections given together with the medication .The baby is able to feed well and sleeps a lot too.He has been discharged back home and gone back to normal health

Immanuel presented with swelling of the upper limb, pain on movement, fever, and irritability—features consistent with cellulitis. In infants, this condition can progress rapidly due to their developing immune systems, making early intervention critical. The location of the swelling near the armpit raised concern for possible spread of infection through the lymphatic system. Prompt admission and initiation of intravenous antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medication were appropriate to control the infection and reduce inflammation. The prognosis is very good, given the early diagnosis and prompt treatment. Immanuel is expected to make a full recovery without long-term complications.
