When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Umbilical hernia is a swelling that can be seen at the umbilicus, or the belly button. It occurs when there is a defect and failure to close a part of the abdominal wall at the umbilical region, thus allowing fluid and parts of the intestine to push through the defect.Hernia should be repaired and closed by surgery.

Background
Ahmad is a 7-year old boy who has lost his father, lives with his mother and 5 siblings. He is friendly, loves to ride a bicycle and dreams to become a journalist when he grows up. He has a 5-year history of umbilical bulge, with occasional pains, and vomiting when there is obstruction. He is currently doing fine, but the obstruction occurs from time to time causing pains.
Medical history
Ahmad was admitted for a Symptomatic Umbilical Hernia and underwent surgery on December 6, 2023. The surgery was successful, and he received post-operative treatment before being discharged on December 10, 2023. His mother expresses her gratitude to Helpster Charity for assisting her child, who had been suffering from an umbilical bulge and pain for quite some time. She reports that Ahmad is now doing well, and his quality of life has significantly improved. She concludes with a blessing for Helpster Charity.
Prognosis
Without intervention, the hernia may continue to grow in size, causing increased discomfort, pain, and a noticeable bulge at the umbilicus. In severe cases, the protruding tissue can become trapped or strangulated, which is a medical emergency. Strangulation occurs when the blood supply to the herniated tissue is compromised, leading to severe pain, nausea, vomiting, and possible tissue damage or necrosis.
