Background
Hasib Sordar is a gentle 3-month-old baby boy who lives with his parents and elder sister Jannat in a fragile rented home. His father, Halim Sordar, works as a van driver and earns only about 8,000 BDT per month, which barely supports their four-member family and leaves them unable to afford urgent medical treatment. When Hasib developed a high fever, persistent cough, and severe breathing difficulties, doctors diagnosed him with severe pneumonia, and his worried parents rushed him to Narayanganj Poly Clinic for emergency care. The family learned about Helpster Charity through volunteer Masud Rana and sought help because they have no savings to continue the treatment. Without immediate medical care, this serious lung infection could quickly worsen and become life-threatening for the fragile infant.
Medical history
Hasib Sordar was admitted to Narayanganj Polyclinic on 26/02/2026 in serious condition after being diagnosed with severe pneumonia. Doctors immediately started emergency treatment, including oxygen therapy, nebulization, injectable antibiotics, and supportive care, to stabilize his breathing and control the infection. With continuous medical care and close monitoring, his condition gradually improved over the following days. He was discharged from the hospital on 04/03/2026 in stable condition and returned home healthy, bringing great relief to his family. With heartfelt gratitude, his parents sincerely thanked Helpster donors, Helpster volunteers including Masud Rana, and the medical team at Narayanganj Polyclinic for their generous support and compassionate care that helped save their baby’s life.
Prognosis
Doctors have recommended immediate hospitalization, intravenous antibiotic therapy, nebulization, and supportive care to treat Mehejabin’s severe pneumonia and stabilize her breathing. With timely and proper treatment, the infection can be controlled, her oxygen levels can improve, and she can gradually recover and continue normal growth and development. Close medical monitoring is especially important at her young age to prevent complications. However, if left untreated, severe pneumonia in a two-month-old baby can rapidly worsen, leading to respiratory failure, spread of infection in the bloodstream, or even death. Early and complete treatment is critical to save her life and protect her future health.
