Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Idris is a 13-year-old jovial boy who loves playing with dogs. He dreams of becoming an accountant. About 3 months ago, he developed severe pains at the right and left sides (lumbar region) with pain urinating (dysuria). The pains are relieved by the use of analgetics. However, early this morning he had exacerbation of the pains and was brought in for emergency medical treatment.

Medical history

Idris was diagnosed with right-sided pyelonephritis with cystitis and was admitted for treatment on November 22, 2023. The surgery was safely performed with no complications. He was discharged on November 26, 2023, with clinically improved conditions and no pain during urination. His mother reports that he is now doing great.

Prognosis

The treatment for right-sided pyelonephritis with chronic cystitis generally involves a combination of the specific type of antibiotic, and pain-management medication. Without treatment, the infection can worsen, leading to more severe symptoms and discomfort.
