Nihan Ahmed is a calm and gentle 10-month-old baby who lives with his parents, two elder brothers Tamim and Naiem, and several extended family members including his grandparents and uncles in a small tin-made house with a muddy floor. His father, Abdul Kuddus, earns only about 6,000 BDT per month working as a day laborer in a biscuit factory, which makes it extremely difficult for the large family to afford unexpected medical expenses. When Nihan accidentally ingested his mother’s homeopathic medicine and later developed high fever, breathing problems, and pneumonia, the family became very worried because they did not have the money to pay for hospital treatment. Without timely medical care, his condition could have quickly worsened, putting his young life at serious risk due to breathing complications and infection. Feeling helpless, the family found hope when they learned about Helpster Charity through volunteer Tanjila Shahin Ema, whose support helped them seek urgent treatment for Nihan.

Nihan was admitted to the hospital on 07 March 2026 after being diagnosed with severe pneumonia, where doctors immediately started appropriate treatment and close monitoring. During the hospital stay, the medical team carefully managed the infection with medicines and supportive care while observing the child’s breathing, temperature, and feeding condition. After receiving treatment for 5 days, Nihan’s condition improved significantly and the child was discharged on 12 March 2026 in a stable condition with follow-up advice. The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to Helpster Charity and its dedicated volunteers, as well as the hospital doctors and staff, for their generous support and compassionate care during this difficult time.

The child has been hospitalized under the care of a pediatrician and is receiving conservative and supportive therapy with close monitoring. With timely treatment, the fever, cough, and breathing difficulty are expected to gradually improve, helping the child recover without long-term complications. Supportive care such as proper hydration, monitoring of oxygen levels, and continuous medical observation ensures the child remains stable and responds well to treatment. However, if the condition were left untreated, the infection and respiratory distress could rapidly worsen, leading to severe pneumonia, dangerously low oxygen levels, dehydration, and even respiratory failure, which can be life-threatening for an infant. Early hospitalization and careful monitoring therefore play a crucial role in protecting the child’s life and ensuring a safe recovery.
