Khadija Faruk is a 19-year-old young woman from a financially struggling family, living with her parents and six siblings in a rented home. Despite limited resources and her father’s modest income as a security guard, she remains determined and supportive, helping her family while aspiring to become a civil servant and uplift her community. She presented with a 7-day history of painful swelling near the anus, associated with pus discharge and fever. The symptoms progressively worsened, causing significant discomfort and difficulty with daily activities. Examination revealed a fistulous opening with purulent discharge, surrounding redness, tenderness, and signs of systemic infection. She was diagnosed with an anal fistula complicated by sepsis. The proposed management includes fistulectomy, alongside antibiotics, analgesics, and proper wound care, pending support and approval from the Helpster Charity Foundation.

MEDICAL DISCHARGE REPORT INRESPECT OF KHADIJA FARUK, FEMALE,AGE 19 YEARS OLD KHADIJA,a 19-year-old young woman, presented with a painful swelling near the anus,purulent discharge accompanied by high grade fever since 7 days.After thorough evaluation and investigation, she was diagnosed to have Anal fistula. She underwent successfu surgery without immediate complications. Due to the nature of her condition, she was admitted for 3 days for close monitoring and post-operative care. Khadija, recovered well and was discharged home after 3 days, with a follow-up appointment scheduled for 1 week. Currently, she is doing well, has fully recovered, and has resumed her regular activities. We appreciate the timely intervention by Helpster and the UMD Medical team.

Khadija presents with an infected anal fistula already complicated by sepsis, a condition that requires urgent surgical and medical intervention to control infection and prevent further systemic spread. Definitive treatment with fistulectomy is necessary, alongside antibiotics and supportive care. With timely surgery and appropriate postoperative care, her prognosis is good, with expected resolution of infection and full recovery. Delay in treatment, however, may lead to worsening sepsis and more complex disease.
