Most Jame Khatun, a 20-year-old kind and resilient young woman, is in critical condition while carrying her first child, bringing both hope and fear to her small family. Her husband, Md Rasedul Islam, works as a day laborer earning only 7000 BDT a month, while his elderly parents, Abdul Sattar and Roshna Begum, depend on the same limited income, leaving them unable to afford urgent surgical care. Despite her severe pain, Jame remains strong and hopeful for the safe birth of her child. However, her condition—ruptured appendicitis with advanced pregnancy—poses a serious threat, and without immediate treatment, both her life and her unborn baby are at high risk. During this difficult time, Jame and her husband learned about Helpster Charity through Dr. Miju and contacted Helpster volunteer Bablu Abdullah to seek financial assistance for her treatment.

Most. Jame Khatun was admitted to the hospital on March 07, 2026, with right-sided abdominal pain at 38 weeks of her first pregnancy. After medical evaluation, she was diagnosed with burst appendicitis and oligohydramnios. On the same day, the attending doctors successfully performed an appendectomy along with a lower uterine cesarean section (LUCS). Following surgery, both mother and newborn remained in good condition. After six days of postoperative care, she was discharged on March 13, 2026, in good health. At the time of discharge, her husband and mother came to the hospital to receive her. The family expressed their sincere gratitude to Helpster, Jamuna Clinic, and Md. Abdullah Miah for their dedicated treatment and continuous support. Her husband was especially thankful to Helpster for the financial assistance provided during the treatment.

Doctors have advised urgent laparotomy with removal of the ruptured appendix, thorough cleaning of the abdominal infection, along with LUCS to safely deliver the baby. With timely surgery, the infection can be controlled, the mother’s life can be saved, and the baby can be delivered safely despite the breech position. Successful treatment will allow Most Jame Khatun to recover fully and care for her newborn and family. However, if this treatment is not done immediately, the infection from the burst appendix can spread throughout her body, leading to severe blood infection (sepsis), organ failure, or death. The unborn baby is also at high risk of distress or death, making this combined surgery absolutely life-saving for both mother and child.
