Azral F., 4

Azral is a four-year-old boy and the second-born child of a single mother of two. His mother is divorced and lives with her children in a single-room house that was donated by a well-wisher. Under normal circumstances, Azral is a playful and active child—he walks, runs, interacts well with other children, and is generally cheerful. He is able to follow simple instructions, speak, and recognize close family members, including his mother and sister. He is currently attending Pre-Primary 2. Azral was reportedly well until the previous evening at around 6:00 pm, when he developed fever, cough, fatigue, reduced appetite, and episodes of vomiting. His mother noted that although the fever was initially mild, it reduced his usual playfulness. By around 4:00 am the following morning, his condition had significantly worsened. He became more weak, less responsive, and increasingly unwell, prompting his mother—who had previously learned about Helpster Charity through a clinician at the facility—to rush him to the hospital for urgent care. On arrival, Azral was febrile with a temperature of 38.9°C and appeared very ill. He was irritable, lethargic, and had reduced interaction with his surroundings. He showed signs of severe weakness, poor feeding, and general deterioration, raising concern for a serious systemic infection. He was promptly reviewed by the clinician, who diagnosed severe septicemia and recommended immediate admission for urgent treatment and close monitoring.

Azral was admitted into the children's ward and put under treatment. he showed some improvement and was ready for discharge. Close monitoring and doctors prescription of medicines to be adhered since the boy is still young and need much care.

Azral, a 4-year-old child, has been diagnosed with Sepsis, a serious condition caused by a severe infection that has spread into the bloodstream and can affect multiple body organs. Due to the child’s age and the potential for rapid deterioration, admission to the ward is necessary for close monitoring and intensive treatment. Management includes administration of intravenous antibiotics, fluids, supportive care, and regular monitoring of vital signs and laboratory parameters. With prompt and appropriate hospital treatment, the prognosis is fair to good, although the condition remains potentially life-threatening if not properly managed. Continuous inpatient care is therefore required until the infection is controlled and the child’s general condition stabilizes.
