Jibon Bormon has been diagnosed with acute appendicitis, a serious condition where the appendix becomes inflamed and causes severe abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. Doctors have advised that surgical removal of the appendix is the definitive treatment to prevent complications. If left untreated, the inflamed appendix may rupture, leading to dangerous infections inside the abdomen. Timely surgery is essential to relieve his pain and ensure a full recovery.

Background
Thirteen-year-old Jibon Bormon is a gentle and responsible boy who loves going to school, reading storybooks, and playing outdoor games with his friends. He lives in a small tin-made house with his parents and four other family members, where his father is the only earning member and works as a day laborer earning about 6000 BDT per month, making it very difficult to cover medical expenses. Recently, Jibon developed severe abdominal pain with nausea and vomiting, and doctors diagnosed him with acute appendicitis, advising urgent surgery to prevent serious complications. Although his pain temporarily improved with medicines, the surgery is still necessary, as delaying treatment could lead to a ruptured appendix and life-threatening infection. With no financial means to afford the operation, Jibon’s family has approached Helpster through volunteer Sadika Rahman, hoping for support so he can receive treatment and continue his dream of education.
Medical history
The patient,Jibon Barmon was admitted to City Clinic on 31th March 2026. A successful operation section was performed the same day.The child progressed well and were discharged on 04th April 2026 with proper postnatal advice. The patient and her family expressed heartfelt gratitude to Helpster, the dedicated volunteers, and City Clinic for their kind support and care throughout the treatment.
Prognosis
Doctors have advised appendectomy (surgical removal of the appendix) as the most effective and permanent treatment for Jibon’s condition. If the surgery is performed in time, Jibon is expected to recover well and return to his normal life, including school and daily activities, within a short period. Early treatment will relieve his pain and prevent further complications, allowing him to grow and live a healthy life. However, if the condition is left untreated, the inflamed appendix may rupture, leading to a severe abdominal infection (peritonitis) that can become life-threatening. In such cases, the treatment becomes more complex, risky, and costly, making timely surgery extremely important.
