Five-day-old Md. Abdullah lives in a small tin house in a remote village with his parents, his 5-year-old sister Hafsa, and his grandparents. His father, Akram Hossain, is a day laborer and the only earning member of the six-member family, earning around 5000 BDT per month, while his mother Bilkis Akter is a housewife. Recently, Abdullah became seriously ill with fever, cough, and severe breathing difficulty, and doctors diagnosed him with severe pneumonia, advising urgent treatment at a tertiary hospital. Because of their extreme financial hardship, the family could not afford the cost of treatment or travel. They were later guided to Helpster Charity by Helpster volunteer Sadika Rahman, and the family is now seeking urgent support, as without timely treatment Abdullah’s condition could become life-threatening.

Md. Abdullah is a 5-days-old child, had been battling recurrent respiratory tract infections for the past few days, but this time, his condition worsened as he developed pneumonia. Despite multiple courses of antibiotics from local pharmacies, his health continued to decline, leaving him lethargic and in a toxic state. In desperate need of emergency hospitalization, he received critical care at City Clinic, including oxygen therapy, nebulization with sulbutamol, ipratropium bromide, budesonide, and injectable antibiotics, along with hydrocortisone due to the seriousness of his condition.Abdullah was admitted on 05/03/26, received treatment, and was discharged from the hospital on 10/03/26. Now, after receiving the care he needed, Andullah is doing well and has returned home, bringing joy back to his family. With tears of gratitude in their eyes, his parents said, "Thank you to Helpster Donors and City Clinic; we are forever grateful for your support!"

According to the doctors, with timely treatment using appropriate antibiotics, oxygen therapy, and supportive care, Abdullah has a strong chance of recovery and can go on to live a healthy, normal life. Early and complete treatment will help clear the infection, improve his breathing, and prevent long-term damage to his lungs. However, if the child is left untreated, the pneumonia may rapidly worsen, leading to severe breathing failure, blood infection (sepsis), or even death. At such a young age, delays in treatment greatly increase the risk of permanent complications or loss of life. Immediate medical intervention is therefore critical to saving Abdulla’s life and securing his future.
