Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background
Adnan Islam is a gentle newborn living with his parents, older sister Hafsa, and grandparents in a small tin-made house in a remote village. His father, Mostakim Islam, is the only earning member of the family and works as a day laborer, earning about 4,000 BDT per month, which is not enough to support the six family members or afford medical treatment. When Adnan developed a high fever, cough, and serious breathing difficulties, his parents took him for medical evaluation where he was diagnosed with severe pneumonia. The family later informed Sadika Rahman, who works with Helpster Charity, and sought her support for Adnan’s urgent treatment. Without immediate medical care, Adnan’s condition could worsen quickly and may put his fragile life at serious risk.
Medical history
Adnan Islam is a 3-days-old child, had been battling recurrent respiratory tract infections for the past few days, but this time, his condition worsened as he developed pneumonia. Despite multiple courses of antibiotics from local pharmacies, his health continued to decline, leaving him lethargic and in a toxic state. In desperate need of emergency hospitalization, he received critical care at City Clinic, including oxygen therapy, nebulization with sulbutamol, ipratropium bromide, budesonide, and injectable antibiotics, along with hydrocortisone due to the seriousness of his condition.Adnan was admitted on 09/03/26, received treatment, and was discharged from the hospital on 13/03/26. Now, after receiving the care he needed, Adnan is doing well and has returned home, bringing joy back to his family. With tears of gratitude in their eyes, his parents said, "Thank you to Helpster Donors and City Clinic; we are forever grateful for your support!"
Prognosis
The doctor has advised that Adnan requires immediate hospital admission for treatment with antibiotics, oxygen support, and close monitoring. With proper and timely treatment, her infection can be controlled, her breathing will improve, and she is expected to recover fully and return to her normal, active childhood. Early medical care will also prevent further damage to her lungs and protect her overall growth and development. However, if left untreated, pneumonia may worsen rapidly and lead to permanent lung damage, severe breathing failure, blood infection, or fluid collection around the lungs. In critical cases, these complications can become life-threatening and may put her life at serious risk.
