Galdine is the seventh-born child of a single mother who, following a separation, returned with her children to her parents’ home due to lack of employment and a stable source of income. The family now depends on the grandfather, who works as a casual laborer, making it difficult to consistently meet basic needs, including healthcare. On her normal days, Galdine is playful, social, and interacts well with other children both at home and in school. She attends a nearby local school and is currently in Grade Eight. Galdine was brought to the facility in a visibly unwell condition. She appeared acutely ill, weak, and fatigued, with a non-productive cough, bilateral crepitations on chest examination, and labored breathing with chest movements noted during inspiration. Her level of activity had significantly reduced, and she was unable to engage in her usual play due to increasing weakness and discomfort, indicating a progressively worsening condition. Her mother, a member of the Catholic Church, had previously learned about Helpster Charity during a church service where awareness was created. Due to her inability to afford the required medical care, she requested assistance from Helpster Charity to support Galdine’s treatment.

Galdine was admitted for three days with a diagnosis of acute bronchitis for further treatment and observation. During admission, she was managed with appropriate medications to control the infection, relieve cough and fever, maintain hydration, and support her overall recovery. She was monitored closely for respiratory status, temperature trends, feeding, and general response to treatment. Over the course of her admission, she showed steady clinical improvement, with reduction in cough severity, relief of chest discomfort, improvement in appetite, and restoration of strength. Her condition stabilized well, and she became comfortable with no signs of worsening respiratory distress. Following satisfactory recovery, she was discharged home in stable condition with continued medication and follow-up advice. Her overall prognosis remained good, with expected full recovery.

Galdine presented with symptoms consistent with acute bronchitis, including persistent cough, chest findings, fatigue, and reduced activity levels. Her clinical state at presentation suggested a moderate severity of illness, likely worsened by delayed care.
