Abu Huraira is a 2-year-old boy who is the only source of joy and hope for his young parents. His father works as a caretaker and security guard, earning only BDT 8,500 per month, while the family has no house of their own and must live in a small room provided by the employer, making it impossible to afford expensive medical treatment. Despite his young age, Abu Huraira is a cheerful and innocent child, but the growing swelling in his abdomen, repeated fever, vomiting, and poor feeding have left him weak and irritable. His parents are deeply worried as doctors have found that the blockage in his kidney is causing severe swelling and may already be affecting its function. Without urgent treatment, he may suffer permanent kidney damage, recurrent infections, loss of kidney function, severe infection, and life-threatening complications. The family learned about Helpster Charity through ABM Alamgir during a community outreach program and sought support to save their child's life.

Abu Huraira, a two-year-old boy, had been suffering from severe left-sided hydronephrosis, which caused swelling of his kidney, abdominal enlargement, recurrent fever, and discomfort. His family sought medical attention several times, and after multiple evaluations and hospital visits, doctors confirmed the diagnosis and planned definitive treatment. He was finally admitted to the hospital on 17 May 2026, where he underwent a successful operation to relieve the obstruction and address the underlying kidney condition. Following surgery, he received careful monitoring, medications, and supportive care, and his condition gradually improved. After a successful recovery period, Abu Huraira was discharged on 26 May 2026 in stable condition.

According to the treating doctors, admission, intravenous fluids, antibiotics, correction of electrolyte imbalance, and urgent Anderson-Hynes Pyeloplasty with DJ stent placement are essential to relieve the blockage, preserve kidney function, and prevent further damage to Abu Huraira’s left kidney. With timely surgery and proper follow-up care, the swollen kidney can recover, symptoms can improve, and the child can continue normal growth and development. However, if left untreated, the obstruction may lead to repeated infections, worsening hydronephrosis, permanent kidney damage, loss of kidney function, severe infection, and dehydration. In advanced cases, life-threatening complications such as kidney failure and overwhelming infection (sepsis) may occur. Therefore, prompt treatment is crucial to protect both his kidney and his life.
