She has been diagnosed with acute watery diarrhoea. Acute diarrhoea is defined as passing at least three liquid stools per day for less than two weeks.

Background
Most. Ashia is a calm and gentle 5-year-old girl who dreams of becoming a teacher and lives with her father Md. Aminul, a low-income tailor, her mother Most. Nuraisha Moni, and her elderly grandparents in a crowded camp with poor sanitation. The family survives on a very limited monthly income of only 6,000 taka, which is not enough to meet daily needs, making it impossible to afford emergency medical treatment. Ashia became seriously ill with diarrhea, vomiting, fever, and reduced urine output, and due to lack of proper care and medicine at the government hospital, her condition worsened before being referred to the Helpster Charity partner hospital New Evercare Hospital. The family learned about Helpster Charity through a beneficiary and a government doctor, giving them hope for treatment support. Without timely medical care, her condition could become life-threatening due to severe dehydration and complications, putting her young life at serious risk.
Medical history
Most. Ashia was admitted on 08.03.2026 with acute watery diarrhoea. At the time of admission, she was suffering from frequent loose stools, vomiting, fever, and signs of dehydration. The medical team immediately started treatment, including intravenous fluids to restore hydration, medications to control diarrhoea and vomiting, and close monitoring of her vital signs. During her hospital stay, she received proper medical management and attentive nursing care, which gradually improved her condition. Her vomiting stopped, the frequency of loose stools decreased, her fever subsided, and she was able to take oral fluids and food. After several days of observation and treatment, Most. Ashia recovered well, became stable, and was discharged safely on 11.03.2026. She is now in a secure condition and expected to continue regaining strength at home.
Prognosis
The doctor has recommended immediate hospital admission for Ashia so that she can receive proper hydration, feeding, and other supportive care. With timely treatment, her fluid levels can be restored, her weakness will improve, and she will have a strong chance of making a full recovery. Supportive therapy will help her body regain strength and prevent further complications. However, if she is left untreated, her dehydration may worsen rapidly, leading to severe illness and possible organ failure. Without urgent care, this condition could become life-threatening for such a young child.
