Her father, Monir Hossain, earns only about 7,500 BDT per month as a farmer and day laborer, which must cover all household expenses, leaving no ability to afford the urgent treatment she now needs. Even in her delicate condition, Jannatul responds softly to her parents, giving them strength and hope for her future. However, without timely treatment for her eye condition, she may suffer permanent blindness, affecting her ability to grow, learn, and live a normal life. After learning about Helpster Charity through volunteer Al Amin and counselor Nasrin, the family is seeking support to save their daughter’s vision and give her a chance at a brighter future.

Jannatul Mahira, a 1-month-old baby girl, was admitted for urgent management of Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) in both eyes, a condition that can lead to permanent vision loss if left untreated. After thorough evaluation, she received Anti-VEGF injection on 12.03.2026, administered by Dr. Md. Saiful Islam, the hospital’s ROP Specialist. The treatment process was carefully planned and executed, with close monitoring to ensure safety and effectiveness. During her stay, her response to the treatment was positive, showing encouraging signs of recovery. The abnormal growth of retinal blood vessels has now been successfully controlled. Her retinal condition has improved significantly, and doctors are hopeful that he will develop clear vision in the future. She was discharged in stable condition with advice for regular follow-up, and heartfelt thanks go to Helpster Charity and Helpster Heroes for making this life-changing treatment possible.

According to Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain Sheikh and Dr. Md Saiful Islam, Jannatul urgently requires Avastin injection in both eyes under specialist care. The doctors believe that timely treatment can stop abnormal blood vessel growth and allow the retina to mature more safely, greatly improving the possibility of preserving useful eyesight. If treatment is delayed, the retinal damage may become irreversible, leading to severe visual impairment or total blindness. At such an early age, this would permanently change her quality of life and place a lifelong burden on her already struggling family.
