Afia Jannat has been diagnosed with typhoid fever, a serious bacterial infection that spreads through contaminated food or water. This illness causes high fever, weakness, stomach pain, vomiting, and loss of appetite, making her very uncomfortable and weak. Because of her young age, the infection can affect her whole body quickly if not treated properly. With timely medical care and proper medication, she can recover well, but without treatment, the condition can become severe and lead to serious complications.

Background
Three-year-old Afia Jannat is a bright and gentle child who loves being close to her parents and playing with her brother, but now lies weak with pain and fever. Her father, Md. Younus Ali, works as a day laborer earning only around 7,000 BDT per month, which barely supports the family’s basic needs, leaving no savings for medical treatment. As her condition worsens with ongoing fever, vomiting, and abdominal pain, her mother watches helplessly, unable to afford the medicines and care she urgently needs. Without proper treatment, her illness could become severe and life-threatening, putting her young life at serious risk. With the help of her uncle and guidance from Helpster volunteer Bablu Abdullah, the family has found hope for better treatment through Helpster Charity.
Medical history
fia Jannat was admitted to the hospital on March 18, 2026, after suffering for six days from high fever, persistent cough, vomiting, and right lower abdominal pain. Following a thorough evaluation, she was diagnosed with Typhoid. After receiving five days of treatment, her condition improved significantly, and she was discharged in good health on March 23, 2026. During her hospital stay, she was accompanied by her mother and grandmother. At the time of discharge, her grandmother expressed sincere gratitude to Helpster Charity, Jamuna Clinic, and Md. Abdullah Miah for their compassionate care and support. Her mother also deeply appreciated the financial assistance from Helpster, noting that it played a crucial role in ensuring timely and proper treatment.
Prognosis
Doctors have advised that with proper treatment using parenteral antibiotics and supportive care, Afia has a strong chance of full recovery and can return to her normal, healthy childhood. This treatment will help control the infection, reduce her fever, and restore her strength over time. With timely care, she is expected to recover without long-term complications. However, if left untreated, typhoid fever can lead to severe complications such as intestinal damage, prolonged weakness, and life-threatening conditions. Immediate treatment is therefore essential to protect her life and ensure a safe recovery.
