Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

He is suffering from several deep lacerations and significant soft tissue damage, causing severe pain, bleeding, and risk of infection. Background

Md. Sakib, a 21-year-old young man, is the only earning member of his family, living with his widowed mother and two younger siblings in a remote area of Ramu. He supports them through irregular daily work, earning a small income that is not enough to cover basic needs, leaving the family with no savings for emergencies. On the night of the 22nd, while returning home from work, he was hit by a local auto-rickshaw and suffered serious injuries, including head trauma and heavy bleeding. At that critical moment, a Helpster volunteer rescued him and arranged his immediate transfer to Orion Hospital for urgent treatment. Without financial support, his family cannot afford the medical costs, and without proper treatment, his condition may worsen, putting his life at risk and leaving his mother and siblings without their only support.

Medical history

Md Sakib, a 21-year-old boy, was admitted on 20.03.2026 with complaints of severe, diffuse pain affecting multiple regions of the body, active bleeding from lacerations and cut injuries, significant joint pain with restricted movement of certain limbs, dizziness, and disorientation following a road traffic accident. During hospitalization, he was treated with immediate hospitalization with hemostasis, immobilization, fluid management, analgesia, supportive care, and close monitoring of vital signs and urine output, with follow-up etc. He remained hospitalized for 05 days and showed gradual clinical improvement with supportive care. The patient was discharged on 25.03.2026 in a stable condition with medications, exercise advice, and follow-up instructions. The treatment expenses were fully supported by Helpster Charity, and the family expresses sincere gratitude to Helpster, its volunteers, and the hospital team for their kind support and care.

Prognosis

The doctor has advised that with immediate hospitalization and proper care, including control of bleeding, pain management, and close monitoring, Md. Sakib has a good chance of recovery and returning to a normal life. Timely treatment will help prevent complications such as severe infection, organ damage, or long-term physical disability. Continuous observation and follow-up are essential to ensure his condition improves steadily. However, if his condition worsens, he must be urgently referred to a higher medical center for advanced care. Without proper treatment, his injuries could become life-threatening, potentially leading to permanent disability or even loss of life, leaving his family without their only support.
