Most. Chadni is 35 weeks pregnant with her second pregnancy. She has been suffering from lower abdominal pain and discomfort for the past two days. She is also experiencing hardening of the lower abdomen. She has been diagnosed with a breech presentation, a condition in which the fetus is positioned in the uterus with its bottom or feet pointing downward instead of the usual head-down position. Due to this complication, the fetus may develop fetal distress, umbilical cord prolapse, and birth trauma such as brachial plexus injury and head entrapment, requiring immediate medical intervention to ensure the safety of both mother and baby.

Background
Most. Chadni is a kind and hardworking young mother who dreams of giving her children a better future, but her life is burdened by poverty and separation from her husband. She earns only 6,000 BDT per month as a maid, which is not enough to support her small family, including her young son Md. Nafis and her elderly mother, making it impossible to afford proper medical care. As her pregnancy has developed complications with the baby in an unsafe position, her condition has become increasingly risky for both mother and child. Without timely treatment, she may face serious complications during delivery, and the life of her unborn baby could be in danger. After learning about Helpster Charity through a beneficiary, she now holds onto hope for a safe delivery and a better future for her children.
Medical history
Most. Chadni was admitted on 31.03.2026 at 35 weeks of pregnancy with a diagnosis of breech presentation. On the same day, she underwent an LUCS to ensure the safe delivery of her baby. The operation was successful, and the baby was delivered safely. Following the surgery, she received appropriate medical management, including pain control, antibiotics, and close monitoring of her vital signs and recovery status. Proper nursing care, along with nutritional support and post-operative guidance, played an important role in her recovery. Gradually, her condition improved, and both mother and baby remained stable and healthy. She was discharged on 03.04.2026 in a safe and secure condition, with advice for follow-up and continued care at home.
Prognosis
According to the doctors, LUCS (caesarean section) under spinal anesthesia is the safest and most effective option to ensure a timely and controlled delivery in this condition. With proper and immediate treatment, both mother and baby have a high chance of safe recovery, allowing the child to be born healthy and the mother to regain her strength. This procedure will help avoid complications related to the baby’s abnormal position and ensure a safer outcome. However, if treatment is delayed or not provided, the baby may suffer from lack of oxygen, which can lead to permanent brain damage or even loss of life. At the same time, the mother may face severe complications, including infections and other life-threatening risks.
