Hamza is a 12 year old male who attends a government secondary in his community. He wishes to finish and further his academics in a tertiary institution, his family are struggling financially but his hope is very high that one day the story will change. They live in 2 rooms apartment having a pit latrine. They make use of water from the borehole, no access to electricity. A 12-year-old male child who looks small for age said to have been well until three days ago when he started complaining of abdominal pain (paraumbilical) associated with vomiting everything ingested which affected the appetite for fear of vomiting. On examination, a young male teenager, febrile (37.3o C), anicteric, acyanosed, palor, Tachypneic. He was diagnosed with severe Malaria and Enteritis. The parents could not take him to the hospital because they lacked the money, that is why they contacted Helpster Charity for help. The child was immediately admitted and treated.

On examination, a young male teenager, febrile (37.3o C), unicteric, acyanosed, palor, Tachypneic. He was diagnosed with severe Malaria and Enteritis. He was admitted and thoroughly evaluated, he was managed with injection antimalaria, injection antibiotics and other supportive care, patient was stable after hospital stay and was discharged with some oral medications. Patient is to return after 1 week for follow up. The parents express gratitude for the medical support from Helpster Charity and the whole team.

Hamza was thoroughly evaluated and was diagnosed with severe malaria and enteritis. He was admitted for urgent treatment to avoid complications such as cerebral malaria (causing seizures or coma), acute respiratory distress, and multi-organ failure involving the kidneys and liver. Management includes intravenous antimalarial therapy such as artesunate, fluid resuscitation, correction of electrolyte imbalance, and supportive care. Early diagnosis and prompt treatment are crucial to prevent complications and improve survival.
