Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Chondo is a 5-day-old infant suffering from acute gastroenteritis, an infection that affects the stomach and intestines, causing frequent watery diarrhea and vomiting. These symptoms have led to dehydration, making his body weak and vulnerable at such a young age. In newborns, this condition can worsen very quickly, affecting their ability to maintain proper fluid balance and overall stability. Without prompt treatment, it can become life-threatening, leading to severe dehydration, infection, and other serious complications.

Background
Chondo Barman is a 5-day-old newborn from a remote, low-income family living in a small tin house with six members, including his parents, elder sister, and grandparents. His father, Poresh Barman, is the sole earning member, working as a day laborer with a monthly income of approximately 5000 BDT, making it impossible for the family to afford treatment at a tertiary hospital. Chondo, a calm and vulnerable infant, has been diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis, presenting with frequent loose stools, vomiting, fever, and signs of dehydration, requiring urgent medical care. Without timely treatment, his condition may rapidly deteriorate, leading to severe dehydration, infection, and potential life-threatening complications. The family learned about Helpster Charity through a local volunteer, Sadika Rahman, and has reached out in hope of receiving financial support to save their child’s life.
Medical history
Chondo barman is a 5-days-old child, had been battling recurrent respiratory tract infections for the past 2 days, but this time, his condition worsened as he developed gastroenteritis . Despite multiple courses of medicine from local pharmacies, his health continued to decline, leaving him lethargic and in a toxic state. In desperate need of emergency hospitalization, he received critical care at City Clinic.Chondo was admitted on 26/03/26, received treatment, and was discharged from the hospital on 30/03/26. Now, after receiving the care he needed, Chondo is doing well and has returned home, bringing joy back to his family. With tears of gratitude in their eyes, his parents said, "Thank you to Helpster Donors and City Clinic; we are forever grateful for your support!"
Prognosis
The doctor has advised that with prompt treatment, including intravenous fluids, oral rehydration, and supportive care, Chondo is expected to recover completely within a short period. Proper management will restore his fluid balance, reduce fever, and help him regain his strength, allowing him to continue his normal growth and development. Close monitoring in the hospital will also prevent further complications and ensure his safe recovery. However, if left untreated, ongoing dehydration may rapidly worsen, leading to weakness, reduced consciousness, and serious infection. In severe cases, untreated dehydration can become life-threatening for an infant of his age.
