Jannatul Ferdous Aliya, a 5-year-old girl, has been diagnosed with acute watery diarrhea (AWD) with severe dehydration along with pneumonia and fever. She has been suffering from frequent loose stools, weakness, and abdominal cramps, which have led to significant fluid loss and dehydration. At the same time, her pneumonia has caused cough, breathing difficulty, and chest discomfort, making her condition more serious. This combination of illnesses has made her very weak and requires urgent medical care and close monitoring to prevent life-threatening complications.

Background
Jannatul Ferdous Aliya, a 5-year-old girl, lives with her parents and sibling in a small makeshift rented shelter, where her father works as a night guard with very limited income, making it difficult to manage daily expenses and impossible to afford medical care. Despite these hardships, Aliya is a kind and hopeful child who dreams of a better future and brings joy to her family. Recently, she became seriously ill with severe diarrhea, breathing difficulty, and high fever, leaving her weak and unable to eat or play. Her parents are deeply worried but cannot bear the cost of treatment due to financial constraints. They learned about Helpster Charity through a neighbor and sought help, as without timely care, her condition may worsen into severe dehydration, respiratory complications, and life-threatening risks.
Medical history
Aliya, a 5-year-old child, was admitted to Orion Hospital on 03 April 2026 with severe diarrhea, dehydration, breathing difficulty, and fever. She received comprehensive treatment including fluid and electrolyte correction, oxygen support, medications for pneumonia and fever, and close monitoring. With proper care and nutritional support, her condition gradually improved over five days of hospitalization. She was discharged on 08 April 2026 in stable condition with advice for continued care and follow-up. Her family expresses heartfelt gratitude to Helpster Charity, its dedicated volunteers, and the hospital team for their generous support and life-saving care, as all treatment expenses were fully covered.
Prognosis
With immediate hospitalization and proper treatment, including fluid and electrolyte correction, Jannatul’s condition is expected to improve as dehydration is corrected and symptoms are controlled. Supportive care and close monitoring will help manage her fever, breathing difficulty, and prevent complications from both diarrhea and infection. Early treatment greatly increases the chance of full recovery. However, if left untreated, severe dehydration may lead to shock, organ failure, and death. The infection may also worsen, causing serious complications and life-threatening risks.
