Background
Keya Moni, a 22-year-old pregnant woman, lives with her husband and elderly in-laws in a small tin-shaded house where her husband’s income of only 6,000 BDT per month as an agricultural day laborer is barely enough to provide food and daily necessities for the five family members. Despite poverty and hardship, Keya is a caring and hardworking woman who lovingly manages the household and dreams of giving her unborn child a safer and brighter future. During the final stage of pregnancy, she developed weakness, fatigue, and abdominal discomfort, and doctors later found that her baby is in a breech position, which can make delivery dangerous for both mother and child. Her husband and elderly family members are deeply worried because they cannot afford proper medical treatment or possible emergency delivery care. The family learned about Helpster Charity through Life Care Hospital staff, as without timely medical support, complications such as obstructed labor, fetal distress, severe bleeding, or even loss of the mother and baby may occur.
Medical history
Keya Moni was admitted to the hospital on 29/03/2026 at 38 weeks of pregnancy due to her breech presentation and related complications, which made a normal delivery risky. Considering the potential risks, doctors performed a planned cesarean section (LUCS), and the surgery was successfully completed, resulting in the safe birth of her baby. After the operation, Keya received proper medical care, medications, and nutritional support, and both mother and baby gradually recovered in stable condition. She was discharged from the hospital on 01/04/2026 in good health. Keya and her family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Helpster Charity, its volunteers, and the medical team at Life Care for their kind support and timely help that ensured the safe delivery and well-being of both mother and child.
Prognosis
Doctors have recommended a Lower Uterine Caesarean Section (LUCS) along with supportive treatment to safely deliver Keya Moni’s baby and protect both mother and child. With timely surgery and proper medical care, doctors expect a safe delivery, after which Keya can gradually recover and care for her newborn and family. The procedure will help reduce the risks associated with her breech presentation and weakness, ensuring the baby is born safely and in stable condition. However, if proper treatment and delivery management are not provided, the baby may face serious complications such as distress during labor or difficulty in delivery due to the breech position. In severe situations, these complications can become life-threatening for both Keya and her baby
