Mim Akter is a kind and hardworking 14-year-old girl living in Geneva Bihari Camp, Dhaka, with her parents and elder sister in a small, overcrowded shelter. Her father, Md. Alamgir Hossain, earns around 8,500 BDT per month as a rickshaw puller, while her mother is a housewife, leaving the family with barely enough income for daily survival and no capacity to afford medical expenses. Mim’s condition became critical after severe abdominal pain, vomiting, and fever, and doctors confirmed acute appendicitis requiring urgent surgery. Without timely treatment, her appendix could rupture, leading to life-threatening infection and serious complications. The family learned about Helpster Charity through a medical outreach camp, and they are now seeking urgent support to save Mim’s life.

Mim Akter, aged 14, was admitted to Al-Manar Hospital on 07 April 2026 with a diagnosis of acute appendicitis. She underwent an emergency appendectomy on the same day after suffering from severe abdominal pain, vomiting, fever, and weakness. Following the surgery, her condition gradually improved under hospital care and monitoring. She was discharged on 10 April 2026 with medicines and advice for follow-up care and recovery at home. Mim and her family expressed sincere gratitude to Helpster Charity for supporting her treatment during this difficult time.

With timely appendectomy, Mim has an excellent chance of full recovery and can return to her normal daily activities within a short period. The surgery will remove the source of infection, relieve her pain, and prevent further complications. With proper postoperative care and monitoring, she is expected to regain her strength and continue her studies without long-term health problems. However, if left untreated, the inflamed appendix may rupture, leading to severe infection inside the abdomen, which can quickly become life-threatening. This could result in prolonged hospitalization, serious complications, and even risk to her life.
