Aisha is a 10-year-old girl from a low-resource household who lives with her parents and five siblings. The family struggles financially and has limited access to healthcare, often relying on home remedies before seeking medical care. Aisha is an active child who hopes to become a midwife to help her community. She developed painful urination that gradually worsened, associated with frequent urination, suprapubic discomfort, and occasional interruption of urine flow, sometimes causing her to cry during urination. The symptoms persisted and began to affect her daily activities, prompting her family to bring her to the hospital. At UMD, she was diagnosed with a bladder stone and is planned for elective surgery pending approval from Helpster Charity.

Aisha,a 10 year-old female, presented with a history of dysuria, hematuria accompanied by severe lower abdominal pain since one week,her mother thought it was urinary tract infection until she was presented to UMD. After thorough evaluation and investigation, she was diagnosed with bladder stone.She underwent successful Cystolithotomy surgery without immediate complications. Due to the nature of her condition, she was admitted for 3 days for close monitoring and post-operative care.She recovered well and was discharged home after 3 days, with a follow-up appointment scheduled for 1 week. Currently, She is doing well,she has fully recovered, and has resumed her regular activities. We appreciate the timely intervention by Helpster and the UMD Medical team.

Aisha is suffering from a Large bladder stone causing severe pains and urine obstruction, it can cause complications including recurrent urinary tract infections, urinary obstruction, chronic bladder dysfunction (pain, frequent urination, and incontinence), and even kidney damage from urine back-pressure. If left untreated, they can lead to serious health problems like bladder inflammation, chronic pain, and, in rare cases, a potential association with bladder cancer. Doctor's opinion - Bladder stone can cause serious problems of which she is currently experiencing severe pains,and reduced urine volume. Prognosis Treatment of Aisha's bladder stone will have a positive outcome once surgery is done early in a patient. Her treatment will be done with surgery and medications, she will be admitted for the course of the treatment.
