Mohammed Omor is a gentle 1-year-old boy from a refugee family who recently fled from Myanmar and now lives with his parents in a small temporary shelter made of bamboo and plastic sheets. His father, Md. Faysal, works as a day laborer with very little income, making it impossible to afford proper medical treatment for his only child. Omor became seriously ill with high fever, severe cough, breathing difficulty, weakness, and poor feeding, causing deep fear and helplessness for his parents. After learning about Helpster Charity through volunteer Ahammod Ali Reza, the family sought urgent help for his treatment. Without proper medical care, his severe pneumonia may worsen rapidly and become life-threatening.

Mohammad Omar, a 10-month-old child, was admitted on 10.04.2026 to Orion Hospital through Helpster volunteer Ahammod Ali Azad with complaints of difficulty breathing with persistent cough and chest discomfort, high-grade fever causing weakness and irritability, and painful swelling at the right wrist joint limiting movement. Upon admission, detailed clinical evaluation and necessary investigations were conducted, leading to the diagnosis of Pneumonia with Severe Malnutrition, High-Grade Fever, and Ganglion. The patient was hospitalized and kept under close monitoring, received therapy for hypoxemia, along with appropriate pharmacological management for pneumonia and fever. Fluid and electrolyte balance was maintained, nutritional support was provided, and ganglion excision was performed by a general surgeon. The child remained hospitalized for a total of 08 days and was discharged on 18.04.2026 in stable condition with proper medications, dietary guidance, and follow-up advice. The treatment expenses were fully supported by Helpster Charity, and the family expresses sincere gratitude to Helpster, its volunteers, and the hospital team for their kind support and care.

Doctors have have advised immediate hospital-based treatment including oxygen support, antibiotics, fever control, and close monitoring to stabilize his condition. With timely and proper medical care, there is a strong chance of recovery, and he can gradually return to normal health as the infection clears and breathing improves. However, if left untreated, the infection may rapidly worsen, leading to severe breathing failure, spread of infection in the body, and life-threatening complications, which may even result in death.
