Omar Faruk is a calm and innocent 8-month-old baby living in a crowded shelter in Geneva Camp with his parents and elder brother, where life is already difficult due to poverty. His father earns only about 8,000 BDT per month working at a restaurant, which barely supports the family’s basic needs, leaving them unable to afford his urgent medical treatment. When Omar’s cough and cold worsened into severe breathing difficulty with low oxygen levels, his condition became critical, forcing the family to rush him to the hospital. They learned about Helpster Charity through a medical outreach camp and sought help in desperation. Without timely treatment, his condition could rapidly worsen, leading to severe breathing failure or life-threatening complications, making immediate care essential for his survival.

Omar Faruk, aged 8 months, was admitted to Al-Manar Hospital Ltd. on 07/04/2026 at 1:01 PM and was discharged on 16/04/2026, staying in the hospital for about 9 days. He was admitted with fever for 7 days, cough and cold for 15 days, runny nose, and breathing difficulty, and doctors found crepitation in both lungs with oxygen saturation of 88% in room air. After evaluation and investigations, he was diagnosed with bronchopneumonia with nutritional anemia and received conservative treatment, including oxygen therapy, injectable antibiotics, suction, nebulization, and close monitoring under a pediatric specialist. After his condition improved, he was discharged with medicines, medical advice, and follow-up instructions for recovery at home. His family was very grateful, as this treatment was difficult to manage without Helpster Charity’s support.

The doctor explained that with timely hospitalization, antibiotics, nebulization, and supportive care, Omar’s lung infection can be controlled and his breathing will gradually improve. Proper treatment will also help restore his strength and improve his oxygen levels, allowing him to recover and grow normally. Continuous monitoring will ensure that any complications are identified early and managed effectively. However, if left untreated, his condition could quickly worsen, leading to severe breathing failure and a dangerous drop in oxygen levels. The infection may spread further in the lungs, and his weakened condition due to anemia could make recovery more difficult. In severe cases, this could become life-threatening, making urgent and complete treatment essential for his survival.
