Neha Asrafy is a polite and resilient 20-year-old young woman living in a crowded shelter in Geneva Bihari Camp with her parents and elder sister, where daily life is already a struggle due to poor living conditions. Her father earns only about 8,500 BDT per month, while her mother is a homemaker and her sister is unemployed, leaving the family with no savings to afford costly medical treatment. When Neha’s fever and cough worsened into severe breathing difficulty, her condition became critical, and she was later diagnosed with severe pneumonia, scabies, and tuberculosis, requiring urgent and continuous care. The family learned about Helpster Charity through a medical outreach camp and sought help during this crisis. Without proper treatment, her condition could deteriorate rapidly, leading to severe complications, long-term health damage, or even life-threatening consequences, making immediate support essential for her survival.

Neha Asrafy, aged 20 years, was admitted to Al Manar Hospital Ltd. on 07 April 2026 at 1:33 PM with the diagnosis of severe pneumonia with scabies. She did not undergo surgery; instead, she received conservative and supportive treatment, including medicines, nebulization, and close medical observation during her stay. She remained admitted for 8 days and was discharged on 15 April 2026 after her condition improved, with advice to continue medicines and return for follow-up care. Neha and her guardian are grateful to Helpster Charity for the support, which can help this low-income family continue her recovery and manage the cost of treatment.

The doctor explained that with proper hospitalization, antibiotics, nebulization, and supportive care, Neha’s breathing can improve and the lung infection can be controlled, allowing her to gradually recover from the acute condition. Once she is stable, referral to a TB hospital for anti-tuberculosis treatment will help treat the underlying infection and restore her long-term health. With complete and timely treatment, she has a good chance of regaining strength and returning to a normal life. However, if left untreated, her condition could worsen rapidly, leading to severe lung damage, spread of infection, and prolonged illness. Tuberculosis may progress further, affecting other parts of the body and becoming life-threatening. Therefore, continuous and complete treatment is essential to ensure her recovery and prevent serious complications.
