Abdullah Hafiz has been diagnosed with severe pneumonia with bronchiolitis, acute suppurative otitis media (ASOM), rickets, and nutritional anemia. The pneumonia and bronchiolitis are causing serious lung infection and airway inflammation, leading to cough, fever, and breathing difficulty. ASOM has caused a painful ear infection with possible hearing problems, while rickets is affecting his bone development and growth. Nutritional anemia has made him weak and less active. Together, these conditions have severely affected his health and require urgent medical treatment and close monitoring.

Background
Abdullah Hafiz, a 1-year-old boy, lives with his parents, sister, and grandmother in a small overcrowded shelter in Geneva Camp, where his father earns only 8,500 BDT per month as a day laborer, making it difficult to meet daily needs and impossible to afford medical care. He is a gentle and innocent child, but his illness has made him weak, irritable, and unable to feed properly. He developed cough, fever, breathing difficulty, and severe ear pain, and was diagnosed with severe pneumonia with bronchiolitis, ear infection, and anemia, requiring urgent treatment. His family members are deeply worried but cannot bear the cost due to financial hardship. They learned about Helpster Charity through a medical outreach camp and sought help, as without timely treatment, his condition may worsen, leading to severe infection, breathing failure, and life-threatening complications.
Medical history
Abdullah Hafiz was admitted to Al-Manar Hospital Ltd. on 07/04/2026 at 02:06 PM with the diagnosis of severe pneumonia with bronchiolitis, ASOM, rickets, and nutritional anemia. He received oxygen therapy, intravenous antibiotics, and supportive treatment under close pediatric supervision during his hospital stay. After continuous monitoring and improvement in symptoms, he was discharged on 18/04/2026 in a stable condition with prescribed medications and follow-up advice. The treatment lasted around 11 days, and the child showed steady recovery, though he still requires ongoing care, nutrition support, and follow-up visits for complete healing.
Prognosis
With timely hospitalization, antibiotics, nebulization, NG feeding, and supportive care, Abdullah Hafiz is expected to improve as the lung infection is controlled and his breathing stabilizes. Treatment will reduce fever, relieve ear pain, improve nutrition, and support his growth. However, if left untreated, pneumonia and bronchiolitis may worsen, leading to severe breathing failure. The ear infection may spread and affect hearing, while anemia and rickets may further weaken his body. These conditions can become life-threatening, so timely medical care is essential.
