Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About emergency care

Md. A. Rabbi, a 13-year-old boy, has been diagnosed with enteric fever (typhoid), a serious bacterial infection that causes prolonged high fever, headache, and weakness, affecting his overall health and daily functioning. Along with this, he is also suffering from scabies, a contagious skin condition that leads to intense itching and skin irritation, causing significant discomfort. Together, these conditions have made him weak, lethargic, and unable to continue his normal activities. Timely medical treatment and proper care are essential to control the infection, relieve symptoms, and ensure his recovery.

Thank you for saving this life!

Background

M. A. Rabbi, a 13-year-old student, lives with his parents and four younger siblings in a small overcrowded shelter in Geneva Bihari Camp, where his father earns only 9,500 BDT per month as the sole earner, making it difficult to meet basic needs or afford medical care. Despite these hardships, Rabbi is a responsible and ambitious boy who dreams of becoming a community leader and supports his family while continuing his studies. Recently, he became seriously ill with high fever, weakness, and severe itching, which led to his hospitalization and diagnosis of enteric fever with a skin condition. However, due to financial hardship, his family is unable to bear the cost of treatment. They learned about Helpster Charity through a medical outreach camp and sought support, as without timely treatment, his condition may worsen into severe complications that could become life-threatening.

Medical history

M A Rabbi, aged 13, was admitted to Al Manar Hospital Ltd. on 07 April 2026 at 3:53 PM with Enteric Fever with scabies. During his stay, he received supportive, conservative, and antibiotic treatment under medical supervision. He remained in the hospital for about 3 days and showed improvement after treatment. He was discharged on 10 April 2026 at 1:30 PM with medicines and follow-up advice for continued recovery at home. The patient and his family were relieved that he improved after hospitalization.

Prognosis

With timely hospitalization, parenteral antibiotics, and supportive therapy, Md. A. Rabbi is expected to recover as the infection is controlled and his strength improves. Proper treatment will reduce fever, clear the infection, and help him return to normal activities, while also relieving his skin condition. However, if left untreated, enteric fever may lead to serious complications such as intestinal damage and severe infection. The skin condition may also worsen and spread. These complications can become life-threatening, making timely medical care essential.
