Briden is the third-born in a family of three children living with their parents in a single-room mud-walled house with a mud floor and iron sheet roof. His siblings are school-going, while both parents depend on subsistence farming for survival, often living from hand to mouth. The father, who is the main breadwinner, is currently bedridden, placing even more strain on the family’s already limited resources. Briden began feeling unwell with symptoms of cough, fever, diarrhea, and flu-like signs that persisted for two days. His condition gradually worsened, with increasing weakness, poor feeding, and reduced activity, making him appear very ill and unable to engage in normal play. Concerned, his mother bought paracetamol from a nearby pharmacy, but despite giving the medication, there was no improvement. While at the pharmacy, she explained that Briden’s condition was worsening, and the attendant informed her about Helpster Charity, advising her to seek care at a facility where support could be accessed. She then rushed him to the hospital for further evaluation, treatment, and management.

Briden was admitted in the paediatric ward after having been seen in the outpatient through casualty department.He presented with coughing, headache and diarrhoea.In the ward he was managed well whereby cettriaxone, pcm,Amoxoalin,ORS and N/S. Prescribed and administered. He was managed and discharged on stable condition.

Briden’s presentation is consistent with septicaemia, as shown by persistent fever, weakness, poor feeding, and worsening general condition. This is a medical emergency requiring immediate admission, intravenous antibiotics, fluid support, and close monitoring to stabilize his condition and prevent complications such as shock or organ dysfunction. As therapy takes effect, improvement is expected through reduced fever, better feeding, and increased activity. With timely care and follow-up, he has a strong chance of recovery, though close observation is necessary to ensure full stabilization.
