Mohammad Nawas has been diagnosed with adenotonsillitis along with pulmonary stenosis, and he has a previous history of open-heart (bypass) surgery for congenital heart disease. Adenotonsillitis is causing repeated throat infections, leading to fever, pain, and difficulty in swallowing and breathing. His heart condition (pulmonary stenosis) affects normal blood flow from the heart, making him more vulnerable to complications during illness. Due to these combined conditions, he requires careful medical management and close monitoring to prevent serious health risks.

Background
Mohammad Nawas, a 9-year-old boy, lives with his parents, younger sister, and elderly grandparents in a financially struggling household in Geneva Bihari Camp, where his father earns only 8,500 BDT per month from a small shop, making it difficult to manage daily needs and medical expenses. Despite his illness, Nawas is a gentle and resilient child who continues to cope with repeated throat infections and discomfort. Recently, his condition worsened with high fever, severe throat pain, and breathing difficulty, while his previous heart disease makes treatment more complicated. His family is deeply worried but unable to afford proper medical care due to financial hardship. They learned about Helpster Charity through a medical outreach camp and sought help, as without timely treatment, his condition may worsen, leading to serious infection and breathing complications that could become life-threatening.
Medical history
Nawas was admitted to the hospital on 07-04-2026 with high fever, severe throat pain, and breathing difficulty caused by adenotonsillar hypertrophy. Due to his history of congenital heart disease, doctors decided that surgery was not safe for him. Instead, he was given careful conservative treatment, including IV antibiotics, fever medicine, and other supportive care. During his stay, his condition slowly started to improve, and his fever and throat pain reduced. His breathing also became easier, and he was able to eat and sleep better. After a few days of treatment and close monitoring, Nawas recovered well and was discharged from the hospital on 11-04-2026 with advice for continued care at home.
Prognosis
With timely conservative treatment, including IV antibiotics, analgesics, antihistamines, and close monitoring under pediatric cardiology, Mohammad Nawas is expected to improve as the infection is controlled and symptoms are relieved. Treatment will reduce fever, throat pain, and breathing difficulty while keeping his heart condition stable. However, if left untreated, the infection may worsen and spread, causing severe complications. His underlying heart disease may increase the risk of serious and life-threatening outcomes. Therefore, timely medical care is essential for his recovery and safety.
