Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About pulmonology

Sadia Akter has been diagnosed with pneumonia, anemia, and rickets. Pneumonia is causing infection in her lungs, leading to cough, fever, and difficulty in breathing. Anemia means her blood has a low level of hemoglobin, making her weak and less active. Rickets is affecting her bone development, leading to weakness and possible deformity. Together, these conditions have made her physically weak and require proper medical care and nutrition to ensure recovery and healthy growth.

Thank you for saving this life!

Background

Sadia Akter, a 2-year-old girl, lives with her parents and grandmother in a small overcrowded shelter in Geneva Bihari Camp, where her father earns only 8,000 BDT per month as a salon worker, making it difficult to meet daily needs and impossible to afford medical care. She is a gentle and innocent child whose illness has made her weak and unable to play or eat properly. She became seriously ill with fever, cough, and breathing difficulty, and was diagnosed with pneumonia along with anemia and rickets, requiring urgent treatment. Her parents are deeply worried but cannot bear the cost due to financial hardship. They learned about Helpster Charity through a medical outreach camp and sought help, as without timely care, her condition may worsen, leading to severe breathing problems and life-threatening complications.

Medical history

Sadia Akter, aged 2 years, was admitted to Al-Manar Hospital on 07/04/2026 with pneumonia, anemia, and rickets. She stayed in the hospital for 8 days and received treatment under a pediatric specialist, including oxygen therapy, antibiotics, IV fluids, nebulization, and vitamin D with calcium support. During this time, her condition was closely monitored and she gradually responded to treatment. After improvement, she was discharged on 15/04/2026 with medicines and follow-up advice for continued recovery at home. The treatment helped stabilize her condition, but she still needs proper care, nutrition, and follow-up support.

Prognosis

With timely hospitalization, antibiotics, nebulization, and supportive care, Sadia Akter is expected to improve as the lung infection is controlled and her breathing stabilizes. Treatment will reduce fever, improve oxygen levels, and help her regain strength, while also supporting recovery from anemia and rickets. However, if left untreated, pneumonia may worsen, leading to severe breathing difficulty and spread of infection. Anemia and rickets may also progress, causing weakness and poor growth. These complications can become life-threatening, so timely medical care is essential.
