When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Bladder stones are hard, crystallized mineral clumps that form in the bladder when concentrated urine remains there for too long, often due to incomplete emptying. They range in size, with small stones passing naturally and larger ones requiring medication or, more commonly, surgical removal.

Background
Fatima is an 7-year-old girl from a low-income family who lives with her parents and seven siblings. Her parents rely on petty trading for survival, and she helps her mother with household chores. Despite the challenges, she hopes to become a medical doctor and treat sick people in her community. She presented with painful urination that began mildly but progressively worsened, associated with suprapubic pain, increased urinary frequency, and occasional straining during urination. The symptoms persisted for several weeks and began to interfere with her daily activities, prompting her family to bring her for medical evaluation. She was assessed and diagnosed with a bladder stone and is planned for elective surgery, pending support from Helpster Charity. Her parents have been reassured while awaiting approval for the procedure.
Medical history
Fatima is an 11-year-old female, presented with a history of dysuria, hematuria accompanied by severe lower abdominal pain since two weeks,her mother thought it was urinary tract infection until she was presented to UMD. After thorough evaluation and investigation, she was diagnosed with bladder stone.She underwent successful Cystolithotomy surgery without immediate complications. Due to the nature of her condition, she was admitted for 3 days for close monitoring and post-operative care.She recovered well and was discharged home after 3 days, with a follow-up appointment scheduled for 1 week. Currently, She is doing well,she has fully recovered, and has resumed her regular activities. We appreciate the timely intervention by Helpster and the UMD Medical team.
Prognosis
She has bladder stone causing symptoms and will be admitted for this procedure with post operative treatment such as antibiotics, painkillers and fluid rehydration and discharge home within 3 days because larger bladder stone can only be operated. If left untreated ,it can cause serious problems like severe pains, chronic urinary tract infection and eventually kidney damage. Prognosis Treatment of bladder stone will have a positive outcome once surgery is done early in a patient. The patient wellbeing will significantly improve and will bring great relief to her parent and ally their anxiety.
