Alim Abdullah is a brave and determined 10-year-old boy who lives with his widowed mother in a small tin-made house, struggling to survive after his father passed away from cancer. His mother, the only earning member, faces extreme financial hardship, and their limited income is not enough to afford the cost of his treatment. Despite his pain, Alim continues his studies and dreams of building a better future to support his mother, showing remarkable strength and hope. They came to know about Helpster Charity through a community outreach program by RUDO Hospital, which brought them a chance for support. Without timely treatment, his hernia may worsen and lead to serious complications such as severe pain, intestinal blockage, or even life-threatening strangulation, putting his young life at great risk.

Alim Abdullah was admitted to Rudo Hospital on 22 July 2026 after being diagnosed with a right-sided congenital inguinal hernia, a condition requiring timely surgical intervention to prevent future complications. Following a comprehensive evaluation by the surgical team, Alim underwent a successful hernia repair. The procedure was completed without complications, and he was closely monitored throughout his post-operative recovery. Thanks to the dedicated care of our surgeons, nurses, and support staff, Alim made steady and comfortable progress. Within a short time, he was able to resume normal eating and age-appropriate activities. His surgical wound healed well, and he showed no signs of post-operative complications. Seeing Alim comfortable, smiling, and ready to return home was a joyful and rewarding moment for both his family and the healthcare team. Herniotomy under general anesthesia is a safe and effective treatment for Alim’s condition, offering a permanent solution by repairing the weakness in the abdominal wall. After the surgery, he is expected to be free from pain and swelling, allowing him to return to normal activities, attend school regularly, and live a healthy childhood. The procedure will prevent future complications and significantly improve his quality of life. However, if left untreated, the hernia may become more severe and lead to dangerous complications such as intestinal obstruction or strangulation, where the blood supply to the trapped intestine is cut off. This can cause severe pain, infection, and may become life-threatening if not treated urgently.
