Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About bones & joints
Contracture of D2 of the left hand refers to persistent flexion deformity or limitation of movement involving the second digit (index finger) of the left hand. It may result from trauma, burns, tendon injury, nerve damage, congenital abnormalities, arthritis, or prolonged immobilization. The patient may present with stiffness, pain, reduced range of motion, difficulty gripping objects, and impaired hand function. On examination, the affected finger may appear fixed in flexion or extension with associated soft tissue tightening. Management depends on cause and severity, including physiotherapy, splinting, pain control, occupational therapy, and possible surgical release or reconstruction.

Currently they are staying in a single room in the parent's compound, there is a well and pit latrine. They have access to electricity. Abdullahi is 3-year-old male child who presented with a history of inability to extend the left index finger of 3 months duration. He sustained electrical burns to the left index finger 3 months ago, which resulted in deformity and inability to extend the finger. On examination, scar tissue seen over the distal interphalangeal joint, with hyperflexion of the joint and inability to extend the joint. Diagnosis of Contracture of the D2 of the left hand was made. The family cannot afford the money for the medical care that is why they contacted Helpster Charity for the medical support.
Prognosis
The child is having inability to extend the affected finger, hence there is need to release the contracture caused due to the trauma. A contracture of the index finger can significantly impair a child's fine motor skills, making it difficult to grip pencils, use utensils, or perform two-handed tasks. If left untreated during growth, the permanent tightness can lead to joint stiffness and abnormal bone development, potentially requiring complex surgery to restore function. The surgery will improve his quality of life. However, this is done to enable the patient have a good grip on objects and also allow him access to his peers thereby avoiding stigmatization, he will also be able to hold writing materials in terms of school activities. Prognosis is good.
