Aisha Usman Mustapha is a 18 year old teenager whose father works as a roadside mechanic, while her mother sells dry vegetables in a small local market. The family has 6 children and survives on very low daily income, making access to proper healthcare difficult. Amina has just finished her secondary education and dreams of becoming a Pharmacist in the future. The illness began with mild lower abdominal pain which progresses, the pain became more persistent and was associated with abdominal fullness. She also noticed irregular menstrual cycles. Initially, the symptoms were ignored. As discomfort increased,her parent brought her to UMD and sought medical care. Due to financial challenges, her parent approached Helpster Charity foundation.At UMD,she was diagnosed to have complex Ovarian cyst which will require extraction as pain and discomfort persisted even with pain medication and also the size of the cyst increases. Planned for surgery upon approval by Helpster charity foundation.

Amina,an 18-year-old female, was referred to our facility Ovarian cyst. After thorough evaluation and investigation, she underwent elective ovarian cystectomy(Surgery). The surgery was successful without immediate complications. Due to the nature of her sickness, she was admitted for 5 days for close monitoring and treatment. The patient recovered well and was discharged home after 5 days, with follow-up care scheduled for 1 week. Currently, Amina is doing well, has recovered, and has resumed regular activities. We appreciate the timely intervention by Helpster charity foundation and UMD medical team for the free treatment.

Amina is having a Benign complex Ovarian cyst which require surgery to remove the cyst and relieve her symptoms.She will undergo an elective surgery when her case is approved. She is expected to have a successful surgery at this stage that the cyst isn't ruptured but if neglected or delayed she may have a serious complications such as ovarian torsion,ruptured cyst,sepsis.
