Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About pulmonology

Rayhan Khan has been diagnosed with severe pneumonia along with acute tonsillitis. Pneumonia has caused infection in his lungs, leading to fever, cough, and difficulty in breathing, which affects oxygen supply in his body. At the same time, acute tonsillitis has caused inflammation and swelling of his tonsils, resulting in sore throat, pain while swallowing, and irritability. These combined conditions have made him weak and require prompt medical treatment and close monitoring to ensure recovery and prevent complications.

Thank you for saving this life!

Background

Rayhan Khan, a 4-year-old child, lives with his parents and grandmother in a small overcrowded shelter in Geneva Bihari Camp, where his father earns only 7,500 BDT per month as a salon worker, making it difficult to meet daily needs and impossible to afford medical care. He is a cheerful and innocent child, but his illness has made him weak, irritable, and unable to eat or play normally. After suffering from prolonged fever, cough, and sore throat, his condition worsened with severe breathing difficulty, and he was diagnosed with severe pneumonia with acute tonsillitis, requiring urgent treatment. His family members are deeply worried but cannot bear the cost due to financial hardship. They learned about Helpster Charity through a medical outreach camp and sought help, as without timely treatment, his condition may worsen, leading to severe infection, breathing failure, and life-threatening complications.

Medical history

Rayhan Khan, aged 4 years 5 months, was admitted to AL-Manar Hospital on 11 April 2026 at 2:16 PM after suffering from cough, cold, fever, sore throat, and severe breathing difficulty. He was diagnosed with severe pneumonia with acute tonsillitis and received conservative treatment, including oxygen therapy, antibiotics, nebulization, and other supportive medicines. He remained under treatment in the hospital for about four days. After showing improvement, he was discharged on 15 April 2026 with medicines and medical advice for follow-up care at home. The treatment helped stabilize his condition, but continued care is still important for full recovery.

Prognosis

With timely hospitalization, antibiotics, nebulization, and supportive care, Rayhan Khan is expected to improve as the lung infection is controlled and his breathing stabilizes. Treatment will reduce fever, relieve throat pain, and help him regain strength. However, if left untreated, pneumonia may worsen, leading to severe breathing difficulty and spread of infection. Tonsillitis may also increase pain and complications. These conditions can become life-threatening, so timely medical care is essential.
