Maksodul Hasan Saun, an 8-year-old boy, lives with his parents and many siblings in a small makeshift shelter where his father’s irregular income as a rickshaw puller is not enough to support their large family, making surgery unaffordable. He is an intelligent and gentle child, but his painful condition has made him quiet, weak, and unable to eat or play normally. He has been suffering from recurrent swelling and severe pain due to bilateral inguinal hernia, which now requires urgent surgical treatment. His parents and siblings are deeply worried but feel helpless due to their financial hardship. They learned about Helpster Charity through volunteer Mohammad Younus and sought help, as without timely treatment, his condition may worsen, leading to intestinal obstruction, severe complications, and life-threatening risks.

Maksudul Hasan Saun, a 07-year-old male child, was admitted on 25.03.2026 with complaints of Bilateral scrotal swelling, associated with intermittent groin pain and swelling for one year at Orion Hospital through Helpster volunteer Abu Sayeed. On admission, a thorough clinical examination and necessary investigations were performed to confirm the diagnosis. The patient was diagnosed with a both-sided direct hernia and subsequently underwent herniotomy (inguinal hernia repair) under General Anesthesia. Post-operative care, including pain management, wound care, and follow-up, was provided to ensure full recovery. He remained hospitalized for five days, and the operation was performed on 28.04.2026. The patient was discharged on 30.04.2026 in a stable condition with medications, dietary advice, and follow-up instructions. The treatment expenses were fully supported by Helpster Charity, and the family expresses sincere gratitude to Helpster, its volunteers, and the hospital team for their kind support and care.

Doctors have recommended a herniotomy (inguinal hernia repair) to correct Saun's condition and prevent further complications. With proper postoperative care, including pain management, wound care, and regular follow-up visits, he is expected to make a full recovery and return to normal childhood activities without pain or restriction. The procedure will relieve his recurring discomfort, improve his appetite, and allow him to grow and play like other children his age. However, if left untreated, the hernia may become trapped or obstructed, cutting off blood supply to the intestine and leading to a life-threatening emergency. Timely surgery will not only restore his health but also protect his future well-being and development.
