Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background
Wakia Jannat is an innocent and fragile 12-month-old baby girl from the coastal region of Bangladesh who is deeply loved by her parents and siblings despite their difficult living conditions. She lives with her family in a small bamboo-and-tin house built on vulnerable land where her father struggles to support the family as the only earning member by driving a rented auto rickshaw with an uncertain daily income, leaving no savings for costly hospital treatment and medicines. Wakia’s severe cough, high fever, breathing difficulty, poor feeding, and constant irritability have made her extremely weak and uncomfortable, causing sleepless nights and deep fear for her parents as they watch her struggle to breathe. The family came to know about Helpster Charity through Helpster volunteer Abu Sayeed after failing to access proper nearby medical care due to poverty and limited healthcare facilities in their area. Doctors have warned that without urgent treatment and supportive care, her severe bronchopneumonia may worsen rapidly, causing dangerously low oxygen levels, severe lung infection, breathing failure, and potentially life-threatening complications.
Medical history
Wakia Jannat, a 12-month-old infant, was admitted on 07.04.2026 to Orion Hospital with complaints of severe cough with difficulty breathing, high-grade fever for seven days, along with reduced feeding and irritability. The patient was admitted through Helpster voluntee Abu Sayeed at Orion Hospital, Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. On admission, detailed clinical evaluation and necessary investigations were conducted. The patient was diagnosed with Severe Community-Acquired Pneumonia (CAP) with hypoxemia. She was managed with hospitalization under close monitoring, including oxygen therapy for hypoxemia, appropriate pharmacological treatment, correction of fluids and electrolytes, and adequate nutritional support to ensure recovery. The patient remained hospitalized for a total of six days and was discharged on 14.04.2026 in stable condition with proper medical advice and follow-up instructions. The treatment expenses were fully supported by Helpster Charity, and the family expresses sincere gratitude to Helpster, its volunteers, and the hospital team for their kind support and care.
Prognosis
Doctors have have advised immediate hospital-based treatment including oxygen support, antibiotics, fever control, and close monitoring to stabilize his condition. With timely and proper medical care, there is a strong chance of recovery, and he can gradually return to normal health as the infection clears and breathing improves. However, if left untreated, the infection may rapidly worsen, leading to severe breathing failure, spread of infection in the body, and life-threatening complications, which may even result in death.
