Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About pulmonology

Hamza Islam has been diagnosed with severe pneumonia along with bronchial asthma. Pneumonia has caused infection in his lungs, leading to fever, cough, and difficulty in breathing, while bronchial asthma makes his airways narrow and more sensitive, worsening his breathing problems. He has a history of repeated respiratory infections, which has made his condition more serious and weakened his overall health. This combination of conditions requires urgent medical treatment and close monitoring to stabilize his breathing and prevent complications.

Thank you for saving this life!

Background

Hamza Islam, a 3-year-old child, lives with his parents, grandparents, and uncle in a small overcrowded shelter in Geneva Camp, where his father earns only 8,500 BDT per month as a daily laborer, making it difficult to meet basic needs and impossible to afford medical care. He is a gentle and playful child, but his repeated illness has made him weak and unable to live a normal childhood. Recently, he became seriously ill with prolonged fever, cough, and breathing difficulty, and was diagnosed with severe pneumonia with bronchial asthma. His family is deeply worried but cannot bear the cost of treatment due to financial hardship. They learned about Helpster Charity through a medical outreach camp and sought help, as without timely care, his condition may worsen, leading to severe breathing problems and life-threatening complications.

Medical history

Hamza Islam, aged 3 years, was admitted to Al-Manar Hospital on 13 April 2026 at 1:38 PM with severe pneumonia with bronchial asthma. He received hospital-based supportive and conservative treatment, along with necessary investigations and medicines. After 7 days of treatment, his condition improved and he was discharged on 20 April 2026. The doctor advised continued medicines and monthly follow-up for further care. His family is grateful to Helpster Charity for supporting Hamza’s treatment.

Prognosis

With timely hospitalization, antibiotics, nebulization, and supportive care, Hamza Islam is expected to improve as the lung infection is controlled and his breathing stabilizes. Treatment will reduce fever, open his airways, and help him regain strength. With proper monitoring, his asthma can also be managed. However, if left untreated, pneumonia may worsen, leading to severe breathing difficulty or respiratory failure. Repeated asthma attacks may increase complications. These conditions can become life-threatening, so timely medical care is essential.
